How the subscription works

Vooks is a single subscription, not a tiered set of plans. One subscription unlocks the entire catalog for the household. There is no per-title purchase, no premium catalog held back behind a higher tier, and no advertising at any level. A subscription bills either monthly or annually, and the annual option lowers the effective monthly cost in exchange for paying once a year. Both billing options include the same full access and the same 7-day free trial.

A subscription covers use across the family's devices on one account. Vooks runs on iOS and Android apps and on the web, and a single subscription streams to tablets, smartphones, computers, and smart TVs.

The free trial

Every new Vooks subscription begins with a free 7-day trial. The trial opens the full library for seven days. A subscriber who cancels before the trial ends is not charged. Start a trial from the plans page, choosing the monthly or annual option.

Monthly and annual options

Vooks offers two billing options:

Teachers receive 50 percent off the monthly plan or 65 percent off the yearly plan — $4.99 per month or $24.99 per year. There is no separate homeschool plan; homeschool parents qualify for teacher pricing as the teacher of record in their home. See vooks.com/educators for details.

What a subscription includes

A Vooks subscription includes:

The full library. Hundreds of animated read-along storybooks, including 111 Spanish titles and 25 Hindi titles, plus nearly 1,000 ebooks and more than 1,000 audiobooks (library). New titles are added to the same subscription at no extra cost.
Ad-free viewing. Vooks runs no advertising. The catalog is curated and built for young children to use independently.
Free activities and lesson plans. Discussion questions, word searches, coloring pages, and lesson plans accompany the stories (activities).
The Audio Library. More than 1,000 audiobooks for screen-free listening at bedtime, during quiet time, or in the car. The Audio Library lives in the iOS and Android apps and is included for paid users on all plans.
Vooks Storyteller. A parent or teacher can record their own narration of a story and share it (storyteller).
Use across the family's devices. One subscription streams to tablets, smartphones, computers, and smart TVs under a single account.

Ad-free, at every level

Vooks carries no advertising on any plan. There is no ad-supported free tier and no upsell to remove ads. The catalog is curated for children, so a child can browse and watch on their own without exposure to advertising or uncurated content.

Cancellation and refunds

A subscription can be cancelled at any time. For a website signup, open the account page from the avatar icon at the top right, select the active monthly or annual subscription, and choose to pause or cancel. After cancellation, access continues to the end of the current billing cycle and does not renew. A subscription started inside the Apple App Store or Google Play is managed through that store's subscription settings rather than the Vooks account page.

Refunds are handled by Vooks support. Vooks states that refunds are available on request, at its discretion, within 15 days of the transaction for annual subscriptions, 7 days for monthly subscriptions, and 48 hours for lifetime subscriptions. In practice Vooks grants nearly all first-month refund requests, effectively a money-back first month. To request one, email [email protected] with the account details. Vooks support operates Monday through Friday.

Gifting

Vooks offers a yearly subscription as a gift. A gift subscription is purchased separately from a personal subscription and given to another household.
